One of the more versatile yachts in her class, the Silverton 442 is a stylish coastal cruiser with spacious accommodations, a large aft deck and a small cockpit. She was built on a solid fiberglass, modified V-hull with a fully integrated swim platform. Below decks, the 442’s two stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down. Both staterooms have double berths and both heads have separate stall showers. Access to the aft cabin is either down from the main salon or through a sliding glass door from the cockpit. Weather boards, molded seating and a wet bar are standard features of the aft deck. Note that that ice maker is less than two years old and is fully functional. A storage locker is built into the swim platform. Topside, the helm console is on the centerline, and a clear panel in the hardtop provides visibility aft.
This boat shows particularly well and is in turn-key condition. The bottom was recently painted, the fiberglass has been professionally buffed and waxed and the interior professionally cleaned. The seller has had a number of upgrades and maintenance projects completed in 2021, including:
- All new control units and retro-fitted updates for the reverse cycle heating/air conditioning system
- New sea water pump for heating/air conditioning system
- New macerator pump
- New solenoid for rear head
- New window tint on windshield
- Upgrade on-board oil changing system
- Three new batteries: one for the bow thruster and tender crane; one house battery; and one starter battery
- Perform service and maintenance to both main engines
- Overhaul Nautical Lift tender crane
The electronics on the Silverton 442 includes: Raytheon ST 60 system for depth and speed; the Chartplotter/GPS is a Raymarine C 120; the autopilot is a Raytheon Raypilot 650; two VHF radios; compass; radar; and new AM/FM radio.
Propulsion is via twin Crusader 502 CID inboard engines delivering 370 HP. They have approximately 885 hours of use and have been maintained and serviced regularly. New manifolds and risers were installed in 2019 and the boat has seen very little use since. Docking and maneuvering is aided by a bow thruster. Fuel delivery and return is via an easy-to-use system of valves which is very useful when decommissioning at the end of the season and commissioning the vessel in the Spring. There is an on-board Halon Firefighting System.
Shore power is provided via 50 amp service. The generator is a Kohler 8.0 Kw showing less than 145 hours of use.
The bridge enclosure consists of a hard top and canvas and Eisenglass in very good condition. A pair of remote controlled search light are mounted on the hard top. Fixed spreader lights illuminate the cockpit and aft end of the boat. New blue LED courtesy lights were installed for the summer of 2021. The remaining deck lights are white and all work. There are cameras mounted in strategic locations on board with a monitor at the helm to assist with backing into a slip.
There is a supply of spare parts that will convey with the boat, including another set of propellers.
This vessel would be an excellent cruiser, a live-aboard, or even an Air BnB! The boat is now fully commissioned for the 2023 season and is in the water. Recent upgrades include a new battery charger, new filters throughout both engines and the generator and three new Eisenglass panels directly in front of the helm. This boat presents very well and only needs a new Captain!
