1986 Lord Nelson 35 Cutter
This 1986 Lord Nelson 35 Cutter, located in City Island, NY is in excellent condition, with several intelligent upgrades and new Awlgrip in 2013. The is a one-owner boat, so records are available all the way back to the build.
Built to standards rarely seen today, this classic blue-water cruiser is considered one of the best shorthanded bluewater cruisers ever built. Papiola II is ready to circumnavigate the globe, go out for a delightful day sail, or anything in between.
The hull is solid fiberglass with an integral molded-in rub rail, which gives the hull immense strength. The deck is cored with over 1-inch of teak. Seller has cores from through-hull and deck fittings that confirm the superior structural integrity of this yacht.
Sails are in very good condition, with Dutchman system on main and Harken roller furling on the Jib and Staysail.
Accommodations include a huge head with shower and separate vanity in the bow (where you would expect a Vee-berth), a large master cabin just aft to port, a private aft cabin to starboard, settee berths in the main salon, and a full galley.
The Ampair wind generator and twin solar panels atop the hard bimini, paired with two 800 amp-hour gel batteries provided enough power to run refrigeration and lights for weeks.
Included is a custom full winter cover and an 11-foot Bauer sailing dinghy.
Also available is a 40’ docominium slip at a private yacht club in City Island for an additional $11,000.
