1986 Albin Sundeck

This 1986 Albin Sundeck Motor Yacht is a project boat. Both Cummins 6BT diesel engines (210 HP) reportedly overheated in the Fall of 2020 and need to be rebuilt or replaced. The starboard transmission is also in need of repair. The generator reportedly needs a fuel pump. All of the exterior brightwork appears to be structurally sound but the varnish is peeling and needs to be addressed. All of the engine gauges on the bridge need replacement.

The hull, bottom and running gear all appear to be in good condition. The teak decks appear to be in good condition as does the teak sole in the very spacious sundeck area. No leaks are reported.

There is a frame for a bridge enclosure but there is no canvas or Eisenglass. The helm seat on the bridge is in good condition but cushions are needed for other seats.

Recent upgrades include new batteries and a battery charger. Two new aluminum fuel tanks were installed in 2020. The port tank holds 280 gallons of diesel; the starboard tank holds 300 gallons.

The interior of the vessel is in good to very good condition. Access to the main salon is through a starboard side sliding door. This is a “galley down” model with dinette to port and galley to starboard. The V berth is forward with a head to port. The aft cabin features a centerline queen berth with ample storage throughout. The aft cabin head is to starboard with a separate shower and tub.

As is, this Albin would make a fine live aboard. With a new propulsion system the vessel would be a great long distance cruiser.
