Accommodations and layout

A full keel design, built to a superior standard with a hull constructed in fiberglass with foam core. Caper's decks and cabin roof are balsa cored fiberglass, with teak wood trim. Hull fared and seven barrier coats (Interlux Interprotect 2000E) applied 2019. Petit Hydracoat abalative bottom paint applied.

Below decks the Groco manual head is located forward and includes a vanity, wet and dry hanging lockers, and shelving outboard. The forepeak has an overhead hatch and two ports for ambient light and ventilation.

Caper's ergonomic interior design has sleeping accommodation for four people, with two straight settees in the main cabin, the starboard of which can convert into a double, and a quarter berth aft on the starboard side. The settees were recovered in 2022 with new durable paisley pattern cloth. Two reading lights are located above each settee. There is stowage below the starboard berth and shelves outboard. On the main saloon bulkhead is a Force Ten Propane heater. A quarter berth is abaft to starboard, and is currently used for storage.

The L-shaped galley is located on the port side just forward of the companionway ladder. The galley is equipped with a two-burner Kenyon propane stove and a stainless steel sink. The interior has a fully-molded hull liner. Cabin headroom in the Cape Dory 25D is just under six feet  (71 inches). There are four ports in main saloon.

The companionway leads up to a roomy cockpit with lockers and teak coamings
