1977 Wasque 32
Located under cover on the hard at her marina in Mystic, Connecticut. This Wasgue 32 is a fine example of this handsome John Alden/ Niels Helleberg design. A solid fiberglass hull built by Vineyard Yachts as an evolution of the wooden Downeast work boats of New England. Built in 1977, Marilyn is in immaculate condition. She was originally transported to Alaska, and has spent most of her time on the West Coast. Back in near home waters, Marilyn has undergone several refits and has recently reconfigured (2021-23) with a smooth running diesel, new generator, water, holding and fuel tanks. The economical 85 HP Beta Marine diesel (installed 2022) provides a maximum speed of 12.5 knots, which is above the theoretical hull speed. Marilyn cruises at 11 knots also while sipping fuel. Less than 20 hours of use on the engine. The New Generation (made by Kobata) 3 KW genset was also installed in 2022. Of note on deck are a stainless steel 22lb anchor, Lewmar windlass and Lewmar bowthruster (all new 2020)
Electronics include a Garmin GPS/Plotter, ICOM fixed and handheld VHF radios, ICOM AIS transponder/receiver, Xintex bilge vapor detector and Halon alert/fire suppression.
Pilot house reconfigured (2022). Below the galley sink has been replaced, the interior sleeping arrangements have been rearranged this past year into a more ergonomically comfortable space.
Included in the sale is a Zodiac Cadet 20 inflatable dinghy (2021) with 3.5 HP Mercury four stroke outboard
In broad summary, this Wasque 32 is an extremely well maintained, sea worthy vessel that is fully equipped with recent upgrades and additions. Marilyn offers her new ownership the opportunity of a well found vessel that solidly represents quality and traditional values. The motivated owner has invested more than the asking price and Marilyn is reluctantly for sale due to cancelation of her owners' intended plans.
